Riga Pride
Founded in 2005, Riga Pride was the first Pride event in the Baltic States. Initially facing strong political opposition and protests, it has grown into one of the region’s most important LGBTQ+ events and played a key role in the creation of Baltic Pride, which now rotates between Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius. Pride Date Riga
The Pride normally takes place on the second Saturday in June each year. The Pride Programme starts already on June 1st with many activies leading up to the main parade.
When is the Riga Pride taking place in 2026?
In 2026, the event is scheduled for Saturday, June 13. It will be the 21st anniversary in 2026.
This Pride is Latvia’s largest and main Pride event, spanning over two weeks in June.
What is the main party at Riga Pride?
While there is no main party, there is a selection of parties that are taking place:
- SKAPIS Pride @Kultūrtelpa Skapis. It can be considered Riga’s best-known queer bar. It is popular with a younger and more alternative crowd. It hosts drag performances and regular parties. It is generally considered the most inclusive LGBTQ+ venue in the city.
- PRIDE GRAND TUSS 2026 @ Top Club Riga with Special Guest: DENNYX (Spain) – Fantasy Superstar. Top Club is the city’s main LGBTQ+ nightclub and the most famous gay venue in Latvia. The party is from 18:00 – 08:00. Entry before midnight: 8€, after midnight: 10€. See Facebook for more information.

Pride Route Riga
The gathering point is the Pride Park in Esplanade. Pride Park in Vērmanes Garden can be accessed through three entrances: Two entrances from the corner of Tērbatas and Elizabetes streets and one entrance from the corner of Elizabetes and Kr. Barona streets.
The march starts on Tērbatas street, from Elizabetes street to Dzirnavu street. The march will move along Tērbatas street to Stabu street, along Stabu street to Brīvības street, along Brīvības street to Elizabetes street, along Elizabetes street back to Vērmanes Garden, where the closing event of Riga Pride will take place.
Parade Starting Time
Gathering time is from 11:00. Starting for the march from 12:00. Groups must be at the gathering point indicated for each group no later than 12:30.
The march will start at 13:00 and will end at the Pride Park and Closing Event venue.
The Closing Event in Pride Park after the march will last until 18:00.
Please note that the gathering place and time, as well as the Pride Park venue, may change due to reasons beyond the organizers’ control.
Key Facts
When did Riga Pride first take place?
Riga Pride first took place in 2005. It was the first LGBT Pride event held in the Baltic States. The first march saw around 50 participants under heavy police protection after legal battles over whether the event would be allowed to proceed. A court ruling allowed the march to go ahead despite political opposition. The organizers not only faced strong political opposition, but participants were also met by hostile protesters. In 2009 Riga hosted the first Baltic Pride, a format that rotates annually between Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius. In 2015 Riga hosted EuroPride, becoming the first former Soviet capital to host the major European Pride event. Approximately 5,000 participants attend in that year.
How many visitors to Riga Pride?
While in 2024 a number of 5,000 participants was reported, this numer increased to 8,000 participants in 2025. For 2026 a similar amount of participants can be expected.

Riga Pride 2026 encourages participants to bloom in their own unique colors and celebrate the diversity that makes society stronger. Using flowers as a symbol of self-expression and community, the theme highlights the beauty of individuality while emphasizing that everyone belongs in a diverse and inclusive society.
