African Prides

Across the African continent, queer lives exist in every country, but visibility, safety, and rights vary among them. While some African countries host Pride marches, festivals, or community events, many others do not, because laws, social hostility, or security risks make public Pride events almost impossible.

Asian Prides

Asia is a highly diverse region where attitudes toward LGBTQ+ communities vary widely. While some countries have made meaningful progress in equality and visibility, many others still impose strong social or legal restrictions. As a result, Pride celebrations across Asia take many different forms from huge street parades to small gatherings, quiet events, or even virtual meetings.

European Prides

The pride season in Europe starts as early as in May and ends in November. The Maspalomas Pride, taking place twice a year, marks the beginning of the season in Mid-May as well as the end of the season in Mid-November. Some of the biggest gay Prides in the world take place in European capitals. Nowadays, even some smaller winter Pride events are on the rise and events are not limited to summer anymore, even this is the best time in Europe to conquer the streets to show the flags.

Prides Oceania

Most Pride events in Oceania take place in Australia and New Zealand, with the most famous probably being Sydney’s Mardi Gras. Across both countries, cities large and small host their own Pride festivals.

South American Prides

South America is of the most progressive regions in the world when it comes to LGBT-rights. Over the past two decades, many countries across the continent have made great legal and social changes, creating a relatively even landscape of inclusion that can especially be seen in the big capital cities.

North American Prides

Across North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, Pride celebrations have become a widely established part of the yearly calendar. While not every national capital hosts its own Pride event, the vast majority across the region do, making the Americas one of the most consistently represented continents when it comes to Pride celebrations.
