Vienna Pride takes place in the historic setting of Austria’s capital with events ranging from glamorous ballroom-style gatherings to political discussions. Another highlight is the Pride Village at City Hall Square that hosts cultural and musical performances.

In 2026, the pride (Regenbogenparade) is scheduled for Saturday, June 13.

There will be two weeks filled with pride activities and events from May 29 until June 14. Highlights are the Pride village on June 13 and the Pride Run on May 30.

Vienna Pride Route

The Pride Parade starts and ends at Rathausplatz. The route takes the following route: Rathausplatz (on Universitätsring) -> Dr. Karl-Brenner-Ring -> Burgring -> Opernring -> Kärtner Ring -> Schubertring -> Parkring -> Stubenring -> Franz-Josefs-Kai -> Schottenring -> Rathausplatz (on Universitätsring)

The Parade usually starts at 12:00 pm and concludes around 04:00 pm, transitioning into evening festivities at the Vienna Pride Village.

Key Facts

When did Vienna Pride first take place?

Vienna Pride began in 1996 with the first Regenbogenparade (Rainbow Parade), inspired by the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Stonewall riots in New York. Vienna’s parade marches in the opposite direction of traffic on the Ringstraße—a symbolic act of resistance. In 2019 Vienna was the Host of the Europride.
