Copenhagen Pride
Copenhagen Pride turns the city centre into the biggest Pride celebration in the Nordics, with drag shows, concerts, and LGBTQ+ discussions held in open public spaces and on the main Pride stage in Rådhuspladsen (City Hall Square). After hosting WorldPride in 2021, Copenhagen’s Pride has grown into an internationally recognized event.

The Pride normally takes place in August each year. The Pride Week usually lasts about nine days, the highlight being the Pride Parade on a Saturday in mid to late August.
When is the Copenhagen Pride taking place in 2026?
In 2026, the event is scheduled for Saturday, August 15. It will be the 30th anniversary in 2026.
This Pride is Denmark’s largest Pride event, spanning over nine days in August. The City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen) becomes “Pride Square” – the centre of all festivities. You can expect over 100 free events, including live music drag shows, debates, art exhibitions, and various cultural activities. The highlight of the Pride is its main Parade, which takes place on the final Saturday (August 165h in 2026). Next to the main events, the festival offers diverse other activities like queer walking tours, and numerous street parties.
What is the main party at Copenhagen Pride?
While there is no main party, there is a selection of parties that taking place each year, based on last years you can expect the following parties to happen:
- GAG Pride @Den Anden Side (DAS) (Saturday night)
- Group Therapy Pride @DAS (Saturday night)
- Pride @Nevermind (Monday to Sunday night, open 22h, Saturday open 20h)
- Pride @SLM (Thursday to Sunday, usually membership fee required, for Saturday it is not required though)
- After Pride Party @Barcelona Bar (Saturday from 9pm)

Pride Route Copenhagen
The parade will follow the traditional route that starts at Frederiksberg City Hall -> via Allegade, Frederiksberg Allé, Vesterbrogade, Hammerichsgade, Studiestræde, Vester Voldgade and ends at Pride Square / Rådhuspladsen .
Parade Starting Time
The parade typically starts at 1:00 PM from Frederiksberg City Hall Square. The route usually takes approximately two hours, before it arrives at Pride Square (Copenhagen City Hall Square – Rådhuspladsen) around 3:00 PM.
Key Facts
When did Copenhagen Pride first take place?
The first Pride was held in 1996, when the city hosted EuroPride alongside being the European City of Culture. First it was known as “Mermaid Pride” from 1998. In 2004 the name was changed to Copenhagen Pride. While the pride was initially held in June, it was moved to August from 1999 on. In 2021 it was hosting the WorldPride.
