Birmingham Pride

Birmingham Pride is known for its massive outdoor festival, featuring great music acts and a vibrant street party atmosphere. The event takes over the city’s LGBTQ+ district with club events and community activities. It’s one of the four biggest Prides in the UK.

Birmingham Pride Date

Birmingham Pride Parade is one of the first prides in Europe’s summer pride season and usually takes place during the final Spring Bank Holiday weekend in May.

When is the Birmingham Pride taking place in 2026?

In 2026, the Pride parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 23. It is free for everyone to attend.

The festival takes place all weekend (Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th) with the Birmingham Pride street party, which requires the purchase of a ticket. The party will be held in the heart of the pride Village and features LGBTQ+ bars and clubs, community market stalls, food vendors and live performances with an incredible line-up.

Pride Route Birmingham

The event starts at Victoria Square in the heart of the city centre and makes its way through the city to the LGBTQ+ village.

After starting in Victoria Square, the route continues past the Town Hall. It continues via Paradise Street, making its way down New Street, High Street, Carrs Lane, passing Primark and continues towards Moor Street Station. After it continues along St Martin’s Queensway, Smallbrook Queensway before turning into Hurst Street and concluding in the LGBTQ+ village.

The Parade usually starts to form at 11:00 am, making its way through the city from 12 noon.

Birmingham Pride was first held in 1997. Prior to this, Birmingham hosted various pride-related activities, including the “Five Days of Fun” in the 1980s.
