Birmingham Pride is known for its massive outdoor festival, featuring top-tier music acts and a dynamic street party atmosphere. The event takes over the city’s LGBTQ+ district with club events, community-led activities, and a strong focus on inclusivity. It’s one of the four biggest Prides in the UK.

Birmingham Pride Date

Birmingham Pride Parade is one of the first prides in Europe’s summer pride season and usually takes place during the final Spring Bank Holiday weekend in May.

When is the Birmingham Pride taking place in 2025?

In 2025, the Pride parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 24. It is free for everyone to attend.

The celebrations kick off with a free community event on Friday 23rd of May on the Main Stage at Smithfield Live.

The festival continues on the weekend (Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th) with the Birmingham Pride street party, which requires the purchase of a ticket. The party will be held in the heart of the pride Village and features LGBTQ+ bars and clubs, community market stalls, food vendors and live performances with an incredible line-up.

Birmingham Pride Route

The event starts at Centenary Square in the heart of the city centre and makes its way through the city to the LGBTQ+ village.

After starting in Centenary Square, the route continues through to Victoria Square, past the Town Hall. It continues via Paradise Street, making its way down New Street, High Street, Carrs Lane, passing Primark and continues towards Moor Street Station. After it continues along St Martin’s Queensway, Smallbrook Queensway before turning into Hurst Street and concluding in the LGBTQ+ village.

The Parade usually starts to form at 11:00 am, making its way through the city from 12 noon.

Birmingham Pride was first held in 1997. Prior to this, Birmingham hosted various pride-related activities, including the “Five Days of Fun” in the 1980s.
